Aleksandrov Park (formerly Maiden’s Park) is a public urban park located in the city of Belgrade, in the municipality of Stari Grad.
The park is situated in the very center of Belgrade, bordered by Kralja Milana Street to the east, Kosovke devojke Street to the north, and Kraljice Natalije Street to the west. On the southern edge of the park stands the old building of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia. In the immediate vicinity of the park, you can find Andrićev venac, the New Palace, and the Russian House.
The monument to Tsar Nicholas II is the work of Russian sculptors Andrej Kovalchuk and Gennady Pravatvorov. It weighs approximately 50 tons and stands 7.5 meters tall, with the sculpture itself measuring 3.5 meters. It is made of bronze, with a granite pedestal. The monument was crafted in Russia over a period of about 6 months in 2014, transported on October 11, and officially unveiled and consecrated on November 16, 2014. Simultaneously, the park underwent renovations according to the design by architect Janko Krstić, who envisioned the park’s ambiance around the monument. The park was renovated by the workers of UPC “Zelenilo-Beograd” in collaboration with Russian engineers.
