Pancicev park

Pančićev Park is located in the territory of the Stari Grad municipality and is the largest park in Dorćol.

Pančićev Park is named after Josif Pančić, a Serbian physician and botanist who lived in the 19th century. Although Belgraders are most familiar with the name University Park when referring to it, which is also located in Stari Grad, Pančićev Park in Lower Dorćol was built during the 20th century. It is situated between Kapetan Mišina Street, Visokog Stevana Street, and Pančićeva Street, right next to the old tram depot and the GSP garage in Dorćol.

Despite representing the largest such area in this part of Belgrade, the park’s infrastructure was in a neglected state until the end of the first decade of this century. Park was reconstructed including the replacement of water installations, renovation of grassy areas, the arrangement of a children’s playground, and adaptation for people with disabilities.

As part of the renovations, a specially fenced area for pets was also established, located near Pančičev Park. Nearby, you can also find the Mika Alas Fountain.
